Dancing with Trees
Having a strong affinity and respect for trees since my youth, I studied their individual personalities and tried to preserve them in my drawings and paintings. This strange balance between human and tree forms the curious crux of Dancing with Trees, which defies easy classifications as readily as a forest.
I find it is time to honor my drawings and paintings of trees over the year by presenting them together. That is the scope of my latest show, especially now when we know how important trees and forests are for the human own survival, yet still often ignored by the powers that be.

Verdant Hour
Verdant Hour
Creatively channeling regenerative seasonal change, The Verdant Hour embraces nature as the aesthetic of renewal. Although the impermanence contained here implies no definite end, the lush blossoming of The Verdant Hour affirms that the generative power of cycles is cross-contextual.
Inspired by Spring as both symbol and source, in this group show Blackfish artists use the rich visual language of regrowth to explore the possibilities contained in transformation.

Circe, Circle, Circus
The Circus of Circe invites you to remember your inherent power and creativity, resisting the urge to feel powerless or disconnected in times of despair. Emotion, imagination, and enchantment encourage us to return to our personal authority through joy.

Address Label Mandalas
Through whimsy and the re-evaluation of what is fair game to use in creating art I invite the viewer to spend time contemplating the timeless, deeper questions posited by these mandalas such as:
:
How can a $10 donation to Greenpeace turn into a lifetime of address labels?
Is there enough gold foil to cover the earth?
Does anyone send letters anymore?
Show Event:
I will be constructing a large Mandala through out the month of April in the gallery. I’ll be sending out regular updates on the progress and will invite visitors to check in on the development of the piece. This will culminate in destroying the completed object at the end of the month in a reflection of the practice of sweeping away sand mandalas as a gesture to illuminate the reality of impermanence.
