1960’s Work shown in more than twenty five exhibitions. Solo exhibition at Portland Art Museum 1962-63. Portland Art Museum purchase. Art Advocates of Oregon Award of financial support for one year - 1968.

1950’s Arrived in Oregon from New Jersey in 1954. Received MFA from University of Oregon in 1956. First paintings shown in the Northwest in the annual exhibitions of Portland Art Museum and Seattle Art Museum 1954-55.

PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES
Retired in 1996 from Pacific Northwest College of Art after teaching since 1960. Served as Acting Director of PNCA from 1978 - 1981. Gave the college graduation address in May, 1996.

An exhibiting artist, juror, lecturer and writer for the Oregonian newspaper. Served on numerous committes of selection in the Oregon art community, including helping to select the Director of the Portland Metropolitan Art Commission in 1980.

1998-2001 Lecturer on History of Visual Arts in Oregon, Portland State University, summer teachers program.

1993 Lecture, The Oregon Art Community 1889-1939 for Oregon Historical Society.

1980-pres. Guest artist and lecturer for Sociology Department, Portland State Univ.

1980-83 Member of Oregon’s first major Percent for Arts selection committee for Justice Services Building, Portland, OR

1980 Guest Artist and Lecturer, Cincinnati Academy of Art, Cincinnati, OH

1979-80 Artst member of a three-person Sociology team that interviewed older Oregon artist, under a grant from the Gerontology Department, Portland State University, Portland, OR

1976 Bicentennial lecture, Colgate University, Hamilton, NY

1975 Founder of Alumni and Friends Association, Pacific Northwest College of Art. Chairman of Artist Membership, Portland Art Musuem, Portland, OR

1970-71 Chairman of the original City of Portland Art Commission, member 1968-71. Largely responsible for the placement of works of art, including two large commissioned paintings in the Public Auditorium. Instrumental in the decision to build the Forecourt Fountain across from Keller Auditorium, Portland, OR
